The brief

OLOID started as a self-initiated challenge to create an ambidextrous ergonomic mouse. Our goal was to redefine the conventional mouse design, with a focus on addressing the ergonomic needs of users, regardless of their dominant hand.

We began an in-depth study of the current ergonomic mouse options through extensive use and tear-downs. In addition to focusing on ergonomics, we aimed to create a design that allows use in either direction while ensuring proper hand support.

The Solution
Solution

A vertical ambidextrous mouse distinguished by a floating interaction surface connected to a technology-filled inner body. The ergonomic design of the interaction surface is achieved through the creation of an arched pill shape that transforms into an off-center ellipse, with a flared-up section serving as a landing for the thumb. This seamlessly merges functionality with a distinctive form.
